Semiconductor orders fell as shipments rose.

Semiconductor manufacturers in the United States, Europe and Japan experienced a slight orders decrease and shipments increase in the U.S. semiconductor market, yielding a book-to-bill ratio of 1.07 for the month of June, the Semiconductor Industry Assn. reported in San Jose. Total U.S. market shipments for the second quarter of 1986 were estimated at $2.19 billion, 12.9% greater than in the first quarter.
