Two postcards signed by all four Beatles in the early 1960s sold for $24,000 at auction, the auction house said Thursday.

They were sold Wednesday night to businessman Pedro da Costa, who said he hopes to resell them at a good profit to London auctioneers specializing in pop memorabilia or directly to Yoko Ono, widow of John Lennon.

Maria Paula Major Mira, who owned the cards, said they were given to her by an English aunt who once met the Beatles while working at a London radio station.

“I never dreamed they would fetch such a price. . . . It will all go into a bank account,” the young office-worker said.
