A Rockwell International Corp. division in Anaheim said it has won a $9.7-million contract from the Air Force to build three gyroscope-type monitors to help guide and control missiles. The contract is not expected to create any new jobs at the company’s Autonetics Strategic Systems Division.

The division will build the monitors, called inertial measurement units (IMU), over the next 45 months. The contract also gives Rockwell the opportunity to qualify as a so-called second source to Northrop Corp.’s Electronics Division, which is currently the primary supplier of IMUs.
