Doctors Find Nurse Not as She Appeared : Christina, 85, Hid Her Sex Till He Died

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa —
An 85-year-old black nurse, who for 30 years was known as “Nurse Christina,” has died in the South African town of Ficksburg where astonished doctors discovered she was a man, officials said today.
Police said Gerrard Mohapi, born in the nearby black state of Lesotho, had masqueraded as a woman for 70 years.
