Giant Group hiked its stake in TRE Corp.

The Beverly Hills-based firm said it now owns slightly more than 1 million shares, or about 14.9%, of the outstanding shares of Los Angeles-based TRE Corp. Giant previously held about 5%. Giant said it intends to seek representation on TRE’s eight-member board of directors and may buy more stock. TRE Chairman L. S. Wyler said the company is evaluating Giant’s move.
