Two New York peace activists and a member of a Soviet dissident organization, “Group of Trust,” were held by Soviet police for an hour after attempting to stage an anti-nuclear protest in Moscow’s Gorky Park, the Americans said. Bob McGlynn, 29, and Anne-Marie Hendrickson, 30, told reporters they and Moscow artist Nina Kovalenko were released after questioning. The Americans said they had been trying to distribute Russian-language leaflets about the dangers of nuclear radiation but that Kovalenko had not participated.
