Irvine : 4 Kilograms of Cocaine Seized; 5 Suspects Held
Five suspects were arrested and four kilograms of cocaine with a street value of $1 million were seized by Huntington Beach and Irvine police, a Huntington Beach spokesman said Thursday.
The arrests occurred at a parking lot near the Registry Hotel at MacArthur Boulevard and Douglas in Irvine after a weeklong investigation, said Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Ron Jenkins.
The arrests were made about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday after undercover officers attempted to buy cocaine, Jenkins said.
The suspects are John Otto Conti, 65, of Costa Mesa; James Wesley Lacey, 39, of Fountain Valley; Gerald Eugene Eppard, 40, no address given; Gabe Drapel, 33, of Los Angeles, and Cheryl Lene Hardison, 19, of El Monte, Jenkins said.
They were booked in Huntington Beach City Jail for possession and sale of a controlled substance.
