Bunzel’s letter made my day, as I could never have afforded to hear Hope’s joke in person.

Even the way Bunzel told it, I thought it was funny. It was also an off-color joke, even a “dirty” joke, and contained cheap shots. But is it “worse than obscene” or “profane”? Am I “morally crude” because I laughed? Why does Bunzel wish to spread “profanity” beyond its original audience?
