Soviet authorities said they will decide by the end of the week whether to allow a Moscow woman to leave the country so she can donate bone marrow to her leukemia-stricken brother now living in Israel. Inessa Flerova and her husband reported a “rather positive” meeting with R. A. Kuznetsov, director of the Soviet visa office, on the request. For four months, Flerova has been denied permission for a mercy trip to Israel despite her plea that the life of her brother, Mikhail Shirman, is at stake.
