General Mills will sell a furniture unit.

The company agreed to sell its furniture group, consisting of Kittinger and Pennsylvania House, to Chicago Pacific, a railroad holding company with interests in home products, for $83.5 million. Pennsylvania House makes and distributes mid- and high-end furniture, mainly through independent dealers and department stores. Kittinger manufactures high-quality furniture for the home and office. For 50 years the company has held the exclusive rights for reproductions of pieces from Colonial Williamsburg.
