Another huge corn crop is expected this year.
The Agriculture Department said farmers are expected to harvest an estimated 8.32 billion bushels this fall, second only to last year’s record production. The huge harvest, down only 6% from last year’s 8.87 billion bushels, will help dampen food price increases at least through the first half of 1987 by providing abundant, lower-cost feed for livestock.
