Florida Utility Fined for Citations at Nuclear Plant

MIAMI —
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has fined Florida Power & Light Co. $300,000 for what it called a lack of management at the Turkey Point Nuclear Reactor. The fine, announced Wednesday, related to five citations for inadequate management and one for failure to shut down the power plant last January, when it was uncertain whether valves were operating properly.
