300 Clergy Ordained in China Since 1981

PEKING —
Chinese Protestant churches have ordained about 300 new ministers since 1981, including 50 women, China Daily said Wednesday. The English-language newspaper said the figures were given at a national Christian conference in Peking on Monday.
It said China has 3 million Protestants and 6,000 Protestant ministers. More than 4,000 churches have been reopened, 10 seminaries set up and 2.1 million copies of the Bible printed under liberalized religious policies since 1979.
