Newport Beach Team Wins Doubles Title

Bob Duesler and Jim Nelson, both of Newport Beach, won the 50-and-over doubles title by defeating John Been and Richard Schuette, both of Houston, 6-3, 7-6 (9-7), Sunday in the U.S. Grass Court Tennis Championship.

Bob Hetherington, an Episcopal clergyman from Richmond, Va., defeated Whitney Reed of Los Angeles, 6-4, 3-6, 8-6, to win the 45-and-over title.
