Forty-one years after they were liberated from a Nazi death camp at Nordhausen, two men expressed gratitude to their rescuers. “Thank you for giving me my life back,” said Eddy Wynschenk, 59, an insurance salesman from San Bruno, Calif., told members of the 104th Infantry Division at a meeting of the group in San Francisco. Emanuel Gelbart, 65, a retired delicatessen owner, told the group, “I am here today to thank you for making me a survivor, not a statistic.”
