The family of a 24-year-old Garden Grove woman, who police believe was slain by her boyfriend, is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to her return or the return of her body.
Debbie Ann Lee was last seen on Aug. 1. Police believe that she was fatally shot and that her body may have been taken to a remote area in the northeast part of the county.
Her boyfriend, Robert Martin Gray Jr., 30, of Garden Grove, was charged with Lee’s murder. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 16. Gray has hired attorney Bruce C . Bridgman of Westminster.
According to police, Gray told an employee of his Garden Grove stereo shop that he wanted to kill Lee because she had given him AIDS, even though doctors have told Gray that he does not have the disease.
Caroll Lee, Debbie Ann Lee’s father, announced the reward Tuesday. Police Detective Ron Shave said the reward is payable upon the discovery of Lee’s body.
Anyone with information can call the WeTip hot line at (800) 782-7463 or the Garden Grove Police Department at (714) 638-6615, Shave said.
