San Pedro : City to Operate Beach
The Board of Harbor Commissioners on Wednesday unanimously agreed to a two-year contract with the city Department of Recreation and Parks to operate and maintain Cabrillo Beach’s inner beach, which is owned by the Harbor Department. The beach was previously run by the county, which this summer decided the operation was too costly.
The commissioners agreed to pay $125,000 for the services and to buy about $215,000 worth of equipment for beach cleaning, landscaping and maintaining the parking lot.
