Huntington Park : Recall Petition Certified
A recall petition aimed at Mayor Pro Tem Thomas E. Jackson and Councilman Jack W. Parks was certified last week, City Clerk Marilyn Boyette said.
Recall proponents Joe M. Ortiz and Guadalupe Levy have 90 days to collect about 1,800 signatures. After the signatures are collected, the clerk has 30 days to check whether they are valid. If approved, there will be a special election.
The proponents claim that the councilmen are “insensitive” and have been in office too long. Parks and Jackson have stated in their rebuttal that the charges are “frivolous.”
