Thank You Note

We want to commend you on your coverage of the 1986 International Mathematic Olympiad, when the U.S. team tied for first place with the Soviet Union.

As grandparents of David Grabiner, a member on the team and winner of a gold medal, we were naturally very pleased to see his name mentioned in an editorial (July 17) and to read the stories featuring him in follow-up articles.

In a deeper sense, we greatly appreciate your doing what is so important--bringing to the attention of your readers the need to encourage, respect and celebrate all constructive, educational achievements. We thank you for caring and sharing!
