‘Making War for Fun’

As I read the article I was feeling sick at heart.

I kept thinking what kind of people enjoy simulated war? What kind of people enjoy simulated killing? Are they the same people who enjoy beating their wives, abusing their children, accosting people in their homes and on the streets? Are they the same people who fight to prevent gun control and who vote to increase defense spending?

I used to think people were afraid of being victims of violence and that’s why they wanted to arm themselves and their country. Now I realize a large number of people enjoy killing, or should I be more polite and say simulating killing?

I can no longer blame the special-interest lobbies for promoting violence to make money. It is the American people who flock to these playing fields. I’m disgusted and ashamed.
