Israeli Foreign Minister Yitzhak Shamir has been questioned secretly by police about his alleged role in the killing of two Palestinian prisoners by security agents when he was prime minister in 1984, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported. Shamir repeated his stand that he had not known about the killings until after they occurred and denied accusations that he approved a cover-up by agents of the Shin Bet security service, the newspaper added. He also denied approving the perjury of witnesses and the falsification of evidence submitted to three separate inquiries into the affair.
