U.S. Beginning Cuts at Air Base in Spain

MADRID — The United States has begun reductions in military personnel at its Torrejon Air Base near Madrid, following a pledge to reduce personnel there by 10%, a U.S. Embassy spokesman said Wednesday.
The spokesman said the cuts primarily affect support personnel. He declined to say whether cuts are also being carried out at other American bases in Spain.
