Claude R. Brochu was named by the Montreal Expos to replace club President John McHale in an attempt to solve the organization’s financial troubles.

Brochu was introduced at a news conference by Expo owner Charles Bronfman as the successor to McHale, president since the club’s inception in 1968, who will retire next year. Brochu has been executive vice president of marketing for a Bronfman-controlled distilling company.
