Sometimes a talk-show guest, Oprah Winfrey, the Oscar nominee from “The Color Purple,” now is the star of her own hourlong daily talk show which starts airing Monday on KABC-TV.
Already a hit in Chicago, “The Oprah Winfrey Show” will be seen here from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday on Channel 7.
She’s taking over Tom Snyder’s time slot, and that puts her opposite another popular talk-show host: Phil Donahue on Channel 4, which seems to set the stage for a lively ratings battle.
