Builder to Receive AJC’s Human Relations Award
The American Jewish Committee will honor Orange County builder John D. Lusk with its prestigious National Human Relations Award at a Sept. 17 benefit dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel, 690 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach.
The award is given annually to an outstanding community and business leader who symbolizes the principles of the AJC, which seeks to combat bigotry and protect civil and religious rights, a spokesman said.
“This recognition is a richly deserved tribute to one of our community’s outstanding civic leaders,” said Michael Lapin, president of the AJC’s Orange County chapter. “His enduring commitment to the health and welfare of the entire community has earned him this honor.”
Lusk, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the Lusk Co., is a founding trustee of Presbyterian Community Hospital in Whittier and a leading supporter of Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos, an orphanage in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
