DANCE GALLERY TO BREAK GROUND
Ground will be broken for the $17.5 million Dance Gallery on Bunker Hill at 2:20 p.m. Sunday.
Scheduled to open in 1988, the Dance Gallery, a $17.5-million project, will house a 1,000-seat theater, an as-yet unnamed institute for dance, a dance research library and a resident dance company.
Celebrating the ground-breaking, more than 25 California dance companies--including the New Repertory, Rudy Perez Ensemble, Shale, Sarah Elgart and Company, Los Angeles Chamber Ballet, Big Flood, San Francisco Ballet and Lewitzky Dance Company--will perform at the outdoor site. The public is invited.
