Israelis Strafe Boat Off Lebanon
Associated Press
SIDON, Lebanon —
Israeli fighter-bombers today strafed a boat offshore from this south Lebanon port today, and police said four civilians were wounded. Israel’s military command said the boat belonged to guerrillas.
Low-flying jets swooped in from the Mediterranean on two strafing runs that set fire to the fishing boat and a crane near the Siniq highway bridge south of Sidon at 4:45 p.m., police said. They said the boat was owned by a Lebanese fisherman, who was the only user of a nearby dock.
