On Sunday morning several thousand volunteer walkers will join Mayor Tom Bradley and other elected officials and celebrities to kick off the second AIDS Walk/Los Angeles to raise funds for the fight against acquired immune deficiency syndrome. Monies raised will go to AIDS Project Los Angeles to fund its many AIDS-related programs.

Last year’s AIDS walkathon raised $673,000 for APLA programs.

The event, which is being hosted by Paramount Studios, will take place on a 10-kilometer course (6.2 miles) through Hollywood, starting at the studio on Gower Street and Melrose Avenue. Advance registration is required: (213) 876-7922.
