It is clear that Schram and The Times are simply calling for more education to combat AIDS. Unfortunately, the horror story you project overwhelms that message and implies that since nothing will prevail against AIDS, the restrictive measures should be adopted now rather than later. The only solution is medicine that stops the virus, and the medical profession and the government ought to get off their duffs and do something about it. A hundred million dollars over five years is nothing; we’re giving that much to the Nicaraguan contras alone.
