Santa Ana-based EECO said it will merge its video products division into its newly acquired unit and will rename the combined subsidiary Convergence Corp. The combined unit will be the world’s largest producer of videotape editing systems, EECO said.

John M. Ludutsky, vice president of EECO and manager of the company’s video products division, was named general manager of Convergence.

In addition to video products, Santa Ana-based EECO makes computer systems for the hotel industry, avionics systems and electronic switches.

For the first six months of 1986, EECO reported net income of $1 million on sales of $27.6 million, compared to net income of $286,000 on sales of $26 million for the same period a year earlier.

Robert Milo, president and chief executive, said EECO is “hoping to surpass $60 million in sales” for 1986. The company had 1985 sales of $54 million.
