Canada Also Toughens Anti-Drug Abuse Effort

VANCOUVER, Canada —
Canada will join the United States in battling drug abuse, which has become an epidemic on both sides of the border, Prime Minister Brian Mulroney says.
In an initiative mirroring that of President Reagan, Mulroney said Sunday night that the government will toughen laws against drug abuse and increase education on the issue. He said drugs “undermine our economic as well as social fabric.”
