Security has been tightened for the Asian Games in Seoul, South Korea, after five people were killed and 30 injured when a bomb exploded at the Seoul International Airport Sunday.

The Asian Games open in Seoul this weekend with 5,300 athletes and officials from 25 nations expected. The Asian Games are a tuneup for the 1988 Olympics.

International Olympic Committee President Juan Antonio Samaranch, who arrived Monday for an Olympics executive committee meeting in Seoul, said the bombing was unfortunate but, “I am sure that the Asian Games will be very, very successful.”
