CRITICS CIRCLE PICKS S.D. AWARD NOMINEES

LA JOLLA — The San Diego Theatre Critics Circle met Sunday to select the nominees for outstanding achievements in theater arts for the 1985-86 season in San Diego.
The list of nominations, being released today, covers 14 categories. The nominees are:
Production. “Emily” (Old Globe); “Figaro Gets a Divorce” (La Jolla Playhouse); “Holy Ghosts” (San Diego Repertory Theatre); “The Homecoming” (Gaslamp Quarter Theatre), and “The Diviners” (Lamb’s Players).
Actress in a Leading Role. Madolyn Smyth in “Emily”; Diana Castle, “Holy Ghosts”; Robyn Hunt, “Gaslight”; Sylvia M’Lafi Thompson, “Boesman and Lena,” and Nancy Titus, “The Homecoming.”
Actor in a Leading Role. William Anton in “Rap Master Ronnie”; Brian Bedford, “Richard II”; Bill Irwin, “The Three Cuckolds”; Paul L. Nolan, “The Homecoming”; Douglas Roberts, “Billy Bishop Goes to War,” and John Vickery, “Julius Caesar.”
Actress in a Supporting Role. Ellen Crawford in “Top Girls” (San Diego Rep); Terry Eaton, “Talking With”; Barbara Murray, “To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday”; Rebecca Nachison, “Bye and Bye,” and Kristine Nielsen, “The Three Cuckolds.”
Actor in a Supporting Role. Michael Genovese in “Gillette”; Eric Christmas, “Pygmalion”; Olek Krupa, “Figaro Gets a Divorce”; James C. Manley, “To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday,” and Daniel Wingard, “Brighton Beach Memoirs.”

Road Show. “Ajax” (La Jolla Playhouse); “La Cage Aux Folles” (San Diego Playgoers); “Clytemnestra” (Suzuki Company of Toga, UC San Diego); “Cyrano de Bergerac,” (East County Performing Arts Center), and “Cat’s-Paw” (Old Globe).
Winners will be announced at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at a reception at the Reuben E. Lee restaurant on Harbor Island. Tickets are available by calling COMBO at 231-6979.
