Soviet and Afghan troops pressed a strong drive against Afghan rebel strongholds outside Kabul for a second week but were met by stiff resistance from well-armed guerrillas, Western diplomats in New Delhi said. They said Soviet helicopters were shuttling between Kabul and the Paghman area, a mountainous region from which the guerillas had been launching rocket attacks on the capital. Fighting was reported to have moved into hills north and west of the town of Paghman, 20 miles northwest of Kabul.
