Philippine military authorities began rearresting some of the 26 men whose acquittal in the 1983 assassination of Benigno S. Aquino Jr. was set aside last week by the Philippine Supreme Court. First to be taken into custody was Sgt. Rogelio Moreno, the alleged triggerman in the airport slaying of the husband of the current Philippine president, Corazon Aquino. The 26 defendants--25 soldiers and a civilian--were tried and acquitted last year, but the Supreme Court called the trial a sham.
