Hanoi Gives Remains to U.S.

BANGKOK, Thailand — Hanoi turned over to a U.S. military delegation today the remains and personal effects that Vietnamese officials say are those of a U.S. serviceman missing in action since the Vietnam War.
U.S. delegation leader Lt. Col. Paul Mather said the family of the serviceman has been alerted but that formal notification would await identification by the U.S. Army Central Identification Laboratory in Hawaii.
