Chrysler extended its cut-rate financing.

Citing a shortage of this year’s cars, Chrysler has extended cut-rate 2.4% financing to some of next year’s models, the nation’s third-largest auto maker said. All major U.S. auto makers are offering financing below 3% through Oct. 8 to clear showrooms of 1986 models. Chrysler is the first to extend the program to the new models. GM, Ford and AMC have announced no plans to extend the low rates to 1987 models.
