“La Cage aux Folles,” scheduled to open Thursday at the Pantages Theatre, has been canceled. The show will end its national tour tonight in Denver. Poor business there coupled with lackluster advance sales in Los Angeles led to the cancellation, but the show may resume touring after the holidays in “a new, less complex physical production,” the producers said. A Japanese production is also being discussed.
Tickets for the show, which was scheduled to run through Oct. 5 here, are refundable at “point of purchase,” the producers said. (If bought through Teletron, the $2.75-per-ticket handling fee is not refundable.) The Pantages box office is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Information: (213) 410-1062 or (213) 216-6666.
