ARABIA

My interview in “The Arab: No More Mister Bad Guy?” contained statements on the Jewish community that are generalized and stereotyped.

This is wrong and I apologize. The quotes were correct but, as always in a long conversation, the danger lies in the ideas or statements being taken out of context. Whatever the reason, it is wrong to generalize or stereotype because it leads to prejudice.

I also realize that in every dramatic work there is a need for the “bad guy.” There is nothing wrong in portraying an Arab or any other group as terrorists, but, in the same context, let us portray another Arab as human. This is only fair.

My apology to the Jewish community, but also my appeal to those of them who are influential in the TV and movie industry to have fairness the same way they made it serve their own people.
