Services Scheduled for Clancy Williams
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Baptist Goodwill Church in Seattle for Clarence (Clancy) Williams, 43, a former Ram defensive back, who died Sunday night of cancer in Seattle.
Williams, who played for Washington State, where he was an All-American defensive back in 1964, was a first-round draft choice of the Rams in 1965. He played eight seasons as a cornerback, and his 28 interceptions rank third on the Rams’ all-time list.
Williams also played with the Portland Storm and the Florida Blazers of the World Football League.
He is survived by two children--Toni Mari, a student at Washington State, and Clarence III, a high school student in Seattle.
After his pro career ended, Williams worked at Union Bank in Los Angeles for three years and in The Times mail room from June, 1979 through January, 1986.
