Dodgers to Play Two Tonight Due to the Rainout

Share

Wednesday night’s game between the Dodgers and the San Diego Padres at Dodger Stadium was postponed because of rain. It will be played before tonight’s regularly scheduled game, the first game of the doubleheader beginning at 4:35 p.m.

The rainout was only the 12th in Dodger Stadium history and the first since Aug. 18, 1983.

The Angels were also rained out of their game against the Cleveland Indians at Anaheim Stadium, marking only the second time ever that both the Dodgers and Angels were rained out of home games on the same night. The only previous dual home rainout occurred on Sept. 5, 1978.

The Dodgers’ Rick Honeycutt (11-9) will face Andy Hawkins (9-8) in tonight’s makeup game, and Jerry Reuss (2-6) will pitch for the Dodgers against Ray Hayward (0-1) in the second game.
