Services Scheduled for Dr. Dorothy Lyons, 75,
Services for Dr. Dorothy J. Lyons, former director of health services for the Los Angeles Unified School District, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Church of the Recessional, Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Glendale.
Dr. Lyons, who retired in 1976, died last Friday at her Hollywood home. She was 75.
Born in Lindsay, Calif., she attended Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, USC and obtained her medical degree from Women’s Medical College in Philadelphia. She did graduate work in internal medicine and cardiology at the USC School of Medicine, then joined the district in 1949 as a school physician.
She was past president of the Medical Women’s Society of L.A. County and of the L.A. Physicians Art Society. She is survived by a brother, Patrick Lyons of Vero Beach, Fla.
