Penalty in the Reding Drunk-Driving Case

Share

I could not believe my eyes when I read R. L. Gausewitz’s letter regarding deaths as a result of drunk driving: Does the gentleman feel that a victim of a drunk driver is less dead than one killed with a gun or a knife?

For years and years people convicted of drunk driving have been given a slap on the wrist. At long last the word has gone out that if you kill a human being as the result of being intoxicated, you are going to have to pay the penalty, which to a sane person should be a deterrent.

The Highway Patrol is doing a great job in attempting to keep drunk drivers off the highways. Let us all cooperate with them as much as possible and support judges who feel the same way.
