Thanks to the luck of a draw, Clifford P. Jennings and his wife will welcome the arrival of their baby in a new home.

Jennings won a raffle Friday to buy a low-cost house from the city’s Dorothy Lane Affordable Housing Project. Jennings, who works for the city as an equipment operator, was one of 59 applicants. His wife is expecting their first baby, city spokeswoman Sylvia Palmer said.

The house was built by Fullerton College students with materials and land provided by the city, which is selling the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home for $93,000, Palmer said.

The home, which has a fireplace and a double garage, is the fifth and last house on Dorothy Lane to be built as part of the project. Fullerton Mayor Buck Catlin said the city will now look for another parcel where the program can continue.
