Levisse Captures Versailles Road Race

VERSAILLES, France — Pierre Levisse of France won the 11th Paris-Versailles road race on Sunday, finishing first in a field of about 20,000 entrants over the 11-mile course.
Levisse’s winning time of 48 minutes 50 seconds was comfortably ahead of Bernie Ford of England, who placed second in 49:05, followed by Ienan Ennis of Wales in 49:07.
Martine Fays of France placed first among the women with a time of 57:50, with Francoise Bonnet and Annie Juttel--both of France--second and third, respectively.
