CBS’s “Dallas,” in a two-hour premiere that brought Patrick Duffy back as the formerly dead Bobby Ewing, easily won its first skirmish in the Nielsen ratings with NBC’s “Miami Vice,” but NBC was a runaway ratings winner as the new television season began last week.

“Dallas” had a 26.5 rating and a 44 share to finish fourth for the week, behind NBC’s “The Cosby Show,” “Family Ties” and “Cheers,” according to the A.C. Nielsen Co. ratings released today. ABC, which finished second overall, had the five lowest-rated programs and eight of the bottom 10, including “Life with Lucy,” Lucille Ball’s new sitcom which fell from 23rd place in its first outing to 56th last week with a 10.1 rating.
