Dutch Students Protest Cuts in University Funds

UTRECHT, Netherlands —
Hundreds of students Tuesday occupied two departments of the University of Utrecht in protest against the Dutch Education Ministry’s latest budget cuts, a spokesman for the group said.
Police did not intervene and said the situation was under control. The Dutch austerity budget published earlier this month contained 130 million guilders ($50 million) in cuts in state funds for universities.
