14 Foes of Apartheid Will Not Be Prosecuted

BALTIMORE —
A prosecutor said Friday that he would not press charges against 14 people arrested this week for trying to prevent Johns Hopkins University from tearing down an anti-apartheid shanty. State’s Atty. Kurt Schmoke said that he would not charge them with disorderly conduct or with erecting the shanty, because it cannot be proved that they built it.
