No Let-Up in Junk Mail

The junk mail column mentioned that it’s possible to shut off direct mail. I’m wondering how?

Editor’s Note: There is a way to reduce the flow of junk mail but not shut it off entirely. To get off many national mailing lists, send your name, address and zip code to: Mail Preference Service, c/o Direct Marketing Association, 6 East 43rd St., New York, N.Y., 10017. Request that your name be removed from mailing lists of companies that subscribe to the service. This will not eliminate your name from most regional mailing lists, however.
