Israelis Hit Deep Inside Lebanon

BEIRUT — Israeli warplanes bombed a Palestinian guerrilla headquarters and harassed Lebanese militia training camps today in strikes six miles from the Syrian border with northern Lebanon, police said. The seven-minute raid was Israel’s deepest ever in Lebanon.
Lebanese police said three guerrillas of the Marxist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine were wounded and the two-story building used by the group was severely damaged. Police said the guerrillas and militiamen opened fire on the eight raiding planes with Soviet-made anti-aircraft guns.
